Activities

Students at KINS do participate in different activities under the guidance of their respective teachers. Including both the teacher-participatory and only-student-participatory activities in tandem with the main curriculum KINS tries to embed learning through experience. Counseled and designed by expert counselors activities at KINS will enable students to learn different life skills, contribute to learning, and, we believe, will make a better human being of her/himself.
Only to name a few they will include:
Quiz Contest
Almost the most popular activity in any school, quizzing is a two-way benefactor. It gives fun as well as prepares our students with the general knowledge which they may need in different walks of life. Anticipation of the day that the quiz will be held, direct participation into the event, and cheering their friends and always thinking of the answer when a question is asked, these all are the funs all our students are going to have time to time.

Poetry Writing
Poetry definitely helps our students with a way to comprehend their feelings and express them in words. It too contributes towards their creativity and let them form ideas and therefore enable them to paint their sketches with ways of words. Both the teachers of Nepali and English at KINS make it a point to emphasize the importance of poetry writing in our school and children from a very young age are involved into many official and unofficial poetry writing sessions.
Essay Writing
Many renowned essayists were early starters at some point and probably they hadn't, at any notion, anticipated that they were going to be among great essayists one day. As part of the curriculum and recognizing as a tool that helps to improve writing talents in students, teachers at KINS emphasise on essay writing. We also, time to time, make it a point to declare essay a very useful aspect in education and hold many such competitions. We know all of these competitions have benefited our students.
Story Writing
More than anything children love to hear stories. They not only find these stories amusing but also vividly visualize all of the scenes and plots which we regard as contributors in child development. And, why not such an interesting aspect be practiced formally and they be taught the art of story writing? Sure, at KINS, we have recognized its importance and periodically we organize such events in which children write stories for competition. Thanks to all those conscious efforts, we have been able to have not only great story tellers at KINS but also great story writers among us.
Debate/Elocution
Debate/elocution definitely helps our students to brush their skills in communication as it not only improves their comprehension but also helps them to target a conclusion and make a pursuasive follow through. Several debate competitions held periodically at KINS have definitely yielded very good results and we know that we will not wonder when one day we see that the best leader public speakers are from KINS.
Social Service
Students of KINS regularly engage themselves during their off time for social service causes and they serve elderly people in different elderly homes. Sometimes they also voluntarily contribute their pocket money for caring the elderly people.
First Aid Training
Students very actively take part in the First Aid Training. About 30 students at one time will visit Aryaghat at Pasupati temple and they serve the dying destitutes. Besides, they also teach first aid techniques to their junior students and are always found helping if any first aid help is needed to any person.
Anchoring
By learning to anchor in front of their peers, while conducting assemblies and during school programs of various kinds, we have found that anchoring talents have easily been instilled in the students. Hurray, some of our students have already become good anchors and we believe that are able to conduct any kind of program elsewhere. We hope to see some of them at the forefront of Nepali media some day.
Child Theater Club
Children are regularly trained to expose their hidden talents through the theatre club. They write, act, direct and then they demonstrate their talents in front of their friends, teachers, parents, and guardians.
Journalist Club
Students are regularly trained by experts from the journalism field for writing, collecting, and reporting for the wall magazine. Their creative effort in journalism is well represented in the wall magazine "Baldut".
Fine Art Club
Our students at the Fine Art Club have started to shown their talents and therefore have also become inspiration to others in their classrooms. Through the club, there are numerous inter-house and inter-class fine art competions held periodically. We have found that our students' artistic talents, through guided theory and practical classes, have improved immensely. We hope that some KINS becomes able to see some of our students becoming renowned artists.
Junior Red Cross
More than 100 students are regularly involved to collect used clothes, used books, and distribute them to the helpless and street children. They also collect money and regularly contribute to the sufferer of natural calamities. Students also set up health camps on Teej and Maha Shivaratri and they provide volunteer work, drinking water distribution as well as health facilities with the help of experts to the needy people.
ECO Club
About 100 students are regularly involved for environment conservation. They sometimes visit the streets of Kathmandu and distribute promotional pamphlets. They also visit different locality and make people aware of environment conservation. Because of their tireless effort they have also been awarded with Environment Award by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. In 2004, the students had setup KINS garden at Jaya Bageswori on their own resources with the cost of 150,000. They also have a plan for future to carry out such exemplary works to the nation.
Science Club
Led by secondary science teacher Biren Dulal, Science Club at KINS much focuses on letting students understand the fundamentals of science and yet at the same time encouraging them to transfer their skills and understanding to the practical use. Students of Science Club at KINS are often seen making diagrams, conducting experiments, and in interaction with their teachers in order to arrive at some concrete result and conclusion. Probably by being within the encouraging environment of Science Club, basis of which is interaction and experiment, our students have not only been found to make mark on science examinations but also with a mindset that think logically and scientifically.
Music Club
Music Club at KINS serves the purpose of inculcating musical talents within the students right from the very young age. It also identifies any real talent among all the students and goes forward as to nurture him/her for years ahead to come as a star singer, musician, etc and spread the name of both KINS and the nation at large.
Music Club very much believes in the theory of early start and sadhana. To encourage students also to be musically engaged and pick up an instrument such as guitar, madal, drum, etc or to start honing the talents of singing with the music guru from Music Club at KINS—this has been the basic question this club addresses to. Also now responsibility lies within the Music Club to refine those talents and produce them as future starts in the skies of music. If the dual result of Music Club standing in front of both the students and teachers charismatically so as to inspire others to join the Club and let them do things musically and be able to hone future music talents are met, KINS will know that the objective of Music Club is fulfilled.
Computer Club
Primary objective being trying to find answers to different queries related to computer and exactly putting objectives of those queries to the practical use, Computer Club at KINS is one of the most happening scenes. Students are often found thronging to the computer hall and putting their theory knowledge to practical test and typically asking questions to their teachers on styles of what if, why not, etc. That, KINS believes, must surely come through the enough information base they are equipped with and their ever-searching mind.
Computer, especially at modern times like these, is an integral part of our lives and thus can’t be ignored and not learn. Computer Club at KINS will be the basis where our students find tandem between the knowledge of computer and their application to the parts of their lives. Thankfully our students too are very keen in it and have found out the integral relationship between.
